What is CERTStation Desktop ?
CERTStation Desktop is a client side application with a low footprint that provides users with advanced security data management, scanning, and threat management capabilities. It is the natural upgrade progression route for users looking for greater capabilities than those offered in CERTStation Lite.
How does it work?
CERTStation Desktop is an easy to deploy client side application that interfaces with both the local infrastructure while maintaining a secure connection to CERTStation Inc., real time security feeds. The local footprint gives it the capability to undertake security functions that a browser based application cannot. All communications between the CERTStation Desktop and CERTStation is secured via encrypted channels.
What value does CERTStation Desktop provide?
CERTStation Desktop provides about 23 unique security functions. The five primary sections included within CERTStation Desktop are Compliance Sentinel, Security Applications, Security Information Management, Security News and Information, and Search. Each of these primary functional areas includes a multitude of unique features. For example within the Security Applications section, we find an integrated Nessus, Nikto, NTO Spider scanner as well as Web Defacement, IP Monitor, and IP Trace. The overall capability of CERTStation Desktop enables its user to receive alerts around potential threats, research in-depth these threats, undertake scans across both network and applications, monitor traffic statistics and monitor servers and services, all from a single multi-window interface dashboard.
